Aircraft simulators provide only digital representations of aircraft. Sometimes, some external physical tools are required to provide the proper level of immersion.
At this point we have only two types of 3rd party tools:
Navigation Tools
Navigating in Hang Gliding is always a VFR type of flying. You must be able to see where you need to go and use landmarks, buildings, rivers, etc. as navigation tools. To do this, you need a map that you can access while flying.
Flight Computers
Simple instruments are usually all that are found in simulator variometers. Maybe an altimeter. You need much more than that if you want to fly tasks or even just efficiently. You need a Flight Computer. It will tell you all kinds of information useful when flying Cross Country.
