Laguna is primarily known as a Big East Facing XC Site. . . for Thermal and Convergence flying. It can also be good in Pre and post Monsoonal conditions. Although Laguna can be tempting and fun for summer evening katabatic flying when horse is blowing down as well as being fun mild Santa Ana days, be advised that the nearest LZ to Launch is a 45 min drive down to the dessert floor and having a dedicated driver is required.
The San Diego club has a special use permit to access the upper launch, which is generally preferred for paragliders.
