About
(San Bernardino) A moderate size area where 2-3 PG can setup at the same time. You park you vehicle in the parking behind launch which is accessible with any vehicle (asphalt road). There is another launch (Marshall Peak) which is about 300m (1000') lower in case the wind is too strong here. Paragliders use Crestline instead of Marshall to lengthen a sledder when conditions are too weak for staying up.

Same landing as for Marshall. A superb and well maintained LZ in the Andy Jackson Airpark, which was constructed to be level. Defined landing patterns keep hang gliders and paragliders separate on busy days. There is a structure that provides shade and many chairs. There is a large grassy area for folding and breaking down. Limited camping and RV parking is available for nominal fees. No hookups, just a portajohn. You can find pictures of the current LZ at the bottom of this page: http://www.flytandem.com/airpark.htm Andy Jackson Airpark is the only location (in the valley) where it is legal for pilots to land. The City of San Bernardino has an ordinance against flying or landing within city limits and the police can issue tickets to violators.

Has 1 different launch points. The best wind direction is 190 @ 10 knts but many sites can be flown from multiple directions, so check before you fly. You can expect to find: thermal conditions ridge soaring conditions cross country potential , all dependent on current weather conditions.
