THGF Hang Glider Controls

Every control our gliders use, and what it does in each phase of a flight: on the ground, launching, on tow and in the air. The left stick is your body on the control bar; everything else sets your pose, your view and your launch.

Set it up: install THGF Helpers – Controls next to the glider in your Community folder, start the sim, then open Settings › Controls, pick your device and choose the THGF Hang Glider preset in the Glider box.

On the ground and launching

RB
Setdown. Glider resting on the control bar. LT / RT turn you in place.
LB
Pickup. Glider on your shoulders. The left stick walks you forward and back (a full push runs), LT / RT turn you.
Click LS
Launch ready on / off. Takes you to the launch-ready stance if the glider is stable; if not, the HUD shows why.
  • After a landing or crashthe same press resets the flight first, ready for the next one.
Left stickforward
Run. From launch ready, push past halfway to start the take-off run and keep pushing while you hold it. LT / RT steer the run. In strong wind it is a punch straight into flight.

Views

Right stick
Free look. Look around from the pilot's seat. The view stays where you leave it; click the left stick to re-centre.
Click RS
Instrument mode / next camera.
  • Cockpittoggles instrument mode, the view that lets you click the vario, HUD and VG. Entering it on the ground sets the glider down first.
  • Externalsteps through the external views: Default, then Quickview 1 to 8.
  • Other viewsdoes nothing.
X
Pilot view ↔ external view. Leaves the pilot camera for the outside view and brings it back, without switching the pilot camera off.
Y
Slew on / off. From the Transversal preset.

Also bound, as sim defaults with no hang glider function: trim (RB + right stick up / down), throttle (A, B, RB + A, RB + B), brakes (LB + RT), parking brake and wing fold (LT + RT together). Walking as your pilot uses the sim's own gamepad controls from the Transversal preset: left stick moves, right stick turns and looks.
